📍 How Can I Use My Pi on the Mainnet?

📍 How Can I Use My Pi on the Mainnet?

Now that Pi Network has entered its Open Mainnet phase, Pioneers can finally begin to use their Pi more freely — not just within the Pi app, but across external platforms, businesses, and apps. Here's how it works, based on the updated whitepaper:

1. First, You Need to Migrate Your Pi to the Mainnet Wallet

Before you can spend your Pi:

Complete your KYC (Know Your Customer) verification

Migrate your Pi balance from your mobile app to your Mainnet wallet

Only Pi that has been migrated to Mainnet can be used for real transactions.

2. Use Pi in the Growing P2P Ecosystem

Pi Network is building a peer-to-peer (P2P) economy, meaning you can now:

Buy or sell goods and services using Pi

Join community marketplaces that accept Pi as a means of exchange

Participate in Pi-powered apps and platforms that are now connecting directly to the blockchain

Real examples include:

Local merchants accepting Pi for food, clothing, or airtime

Freelancers trading their skills (design, writing, etc.) for Pi

Online Pi dApps (decentralized apps) now live in the Pi Browser

3. Pi Apps Are Now Live on Mainnet

During the previous Enclosed Mainnet phase, apps were still in testing mode (Testnet). Now in the Open Network , many of these apps are transitioning to full Mainnet mode, where:

Transactions are real and on-chain

Developers can build fully functional apps connected to the Pi blockchain

You can interact with apps that offer real-world value — like job boards, service hubs, or trading platforms — all powered by Pi

4. No More Firewalls – Pi Is Now Open to the World

With the firewall now removed, external businesses and organizations can also:

 1.Accept Pi payments

2. Build apps and platforms integrated with the Pi blockchain

 3. Connect with the global Pioneer community

This means your Pi is not just useful inside the Pi app — it now has real-world value and can move freely across platforms, borders, and businesses.

5. Security and Trust Still Matter

Even though we’re now in the Open Network, the Pi Core Team is still emphasizing a secure, utility-first approach. So:

Always use trusted apps found in the Pi Browser

Engage only with verified Pioneers and approved marketplaces

Be wary of scams — Pi's value is growing, and bad actors may take advantage

Final Note: This Is Just the Beginning

The Open Mainnet is still new. More apps, marketplaces, and businesses will keep joining the Pi ecosystem. As long as you're KYC-verified and your Pi is on the Mainnet, you're ready to spend, earn, and build with Pi.
